Leaks
- Turn off all faucets and water-using appliances, such as the dishwasher and washing machine.
- Locate your water meter box and lift the cover to see the meter dial. Note the position of the sweep hand or use a marker on the lens cover.
- Wait 20-30 minutes (make sure no one uses water) and check the sweep hand location again. If the sweep hand has moved you may have a leak somewhere in your system.
- Most meters have a flow indicator. If you see it moving when all the water is off, you may have a leak.
It is important that you contact the District when you discover a leak. We will work with you to evaluate the amount of water used during the time the leak occurred, then begin the leak adjustment process. You can submit a leak adjustment request directly from the leak adjustment page of this site.
